The AHA applauds this week's decision by a federal judge to uphold restrictions adopted by the city of Providence to prohibit tobacco companies from selling flavored tobacco products (other than cigarettes) and also from offering discounts to make tobacco products cheaper. Both tactics - sweet flavors and lower prices - are well-known approaches to lure kids and move them a step closer to becoming smokers.
