We Are Raising the Most Sedentary Generation

by Allyson P. on Friday, November 22, 2013

Did you know that your kids aren’t keeping up with you? Millions of children around the world don't run as fast or as far as their parents did when they were young. It is the first time that our children's fitness has declined worldwide over the last three decades. We know that children should be getting at least 60 minutes of moderately vigorous activity in day. AT least half of that has to be in the school day, but currently that is not happening. Kids aren’t getting the opportunities to be physically active during the school day and we know that some schools have no physical education or recess. We need to make our school environments healthier! You can help, advocate to your local school that PE is important that recess should be given daily and that there should be opportunities throughout the school day for kids to be active and play!
