When the legislature reconvenes in early February, they will have a lot on their plate. Pension reform, tax reform and legislative redistricting are just a few of the big items that will likely be discussed. The American Heart Association is working to ensure that issues that are important to you also get addressed. Our key legislative priorities for the 2013 session include pulse oximetry testing in newborns to screen for congenital heart disease and passing a strong smoke-free law for workplaces and public places. To learn more about these issues, please visit www.heart.org.
We hope that this year, with your help, will be a great one with many successes. We could not accomplish what we do without the efforts of our volunteers. So take the time today visit our website and send an email to your legislator or find out when your state lobby day will be, and let’s get to work!
