Sudden Cardiac Arrest is a leading cause of death in the US — but bystander CPR can double or triple the survival rate. How do we raise the number of CPR-trained bystanders? Train students in CPR before they graduate f
rom high school.
In 2013, the American Heart Association will push to make live-saving CPR a curriculum requirement for high school students. We have seen a growing interest in CPR training in the Metro Jackson Area and are excited about the involvement with this issue. We now want to expand the interest across the state! If you live outside of the Metro Jackson area and you either have a CPR story or an interest to help with this issue, please email us at gsa.advocacy@heart.org.
