TN Advocacy Sub-Committee Welcomes New Members

by Sarah U. on Friday, September 14, 2012

The Tennessee Government Relations staff welcome Dr. Tina Bozeman and Dr. George Crossley as the newest members of the Tennessee advocacy sub-committee.

Dr. Bozeman is a Lifetime Wellness Teacher at Martin Luther King Magnet High School in Nashville, where she was selected as Teacher of the Year and a District High School Finalist Teacher of the Year in 2005.  Dr. Bozeman also served as  spokesperson for the CPR in Schools campaign last year where she appeared on television and in print to help further the awareness campaign.

Dr. Crossley is a Cardiologist at Saint Thomas Heart at Baptist Hospital in Nashville.  He helped advance the issue of CPR in Schools to chair a subcommittee that was formed to determine strategies to be deployed for successful passage of this important legislation.  Dr. Crossley currently serves as President of the American Heart Association Greater Nashville board of directors.

The subcommittee establishes public priorities each year for Tennessee, serving as the advisory body to the state’s volunteers and staff, and the Greater Southeast Affiliate Advocacy Chair, on Tennessee public advocacy issues.  We are pleased to have these new members on board going into our next legislative session that begins January, 2013.
