American Heart Association and American Cancer Society volunteers teamed up Dec. 19th in Senate District 17 in Western Minnesota to talk about the many benefits of increasing the tobacco tax. Sen. Koenen and Rep. Falk met with the group at McKinney's in Benson, Minnesota for a great discussion about the heart and cancer risks posed by tobacco. Volunteers Jo and Paige asked the legislators to increase the tobacco tax by $1.50 to spur current smokers to quit and to prevent young people from ever picking up the habit. Thanks to both Jo and Paige for making very persuasive arguments for the health of Minnesotans!
