Simple Test Saved Baby's Life

The North Dakota legislature passed a law this year ensuring that all babies born in our state are tested for congenital heart defects before they leave to go home from the hospital.  This test, called a Pulse Oximetry test, is inexpensive, non-invasive, and is being credited around the country with saving lives.  In a recent editorial, the parents of a new baby tell their story about how their infant was saved because the state in which the baby was born required a pulse oximetry test on newborns.  We are grateful that North Dakota legislators joined the growing list of states to pass this life-saving legislation.  For more on this article, CLICK HERE
