Thank You for All You Do

by Joshua B. on Thursday, December 5, 2013

Nicole Olmstead, Government Relations Director, Arizona

During this time of year, I tend to reflect on the things that I am grateful for.  I love the holidays because it gives me an opportunity to spend time, and yes, even spoil, the ones that I love and appreciate.  I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the wonderful volunteers that we have here in Arizona.  From Go Red to the Heart and Stroke Walk, Racing Hearts Events and Heart Ball, Arizona really does have the greatest volunteers.  And the Advocacy volunteers are no exception.

As we head into the next legislative session, which begins bright and early in January, I am looking forward to working with our amazing advocacy volunteers.  From attending legislative rallies at the Capitol, to sharing personal stories, to testifying at legislative hearings; our volunteers continue to make the difference in influencing policy change.

This session we aim to conquer the challenge of training more individuals the lifesaving technique of Hands Only CPR, as well as open our school grounds so kids have a safe place to play and be physically active after school hours.  2014 is going to be an amazing year, but I want to take a moment and tell each and every one of you: Thank you for all you do.  The AHA/ASA could not be successful without your time and dedication to fighting heart disease and stroke.  Have a happy holiday!
