Meet Midwest Grassroots Manager, Carly Abramowitz

Hello everyone!

My name is Carly Abramowitz, and I am excited to announce that I am your new Grassroots Manager. I will be working with you as we speak out and speak up to advance policies that are improving lives and creating healthier communities in Missouri, Kansas, Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, and Illinois.

A little bit about me: I was born and raised in northern New Jersey but moved to Missouri to study Political Science at Washington University in St. Louis. During college, I fell in love with life in the Midwest and haven’t left since! I began my professional career working in case management, aiding underserved community members with job placement, housing, and food security. Most recently, I worked as a grassroots labor rights organizer, advocating for low-wage warehouse workers in the St. Louis area. In these positions, I saw the necessity for robust policies to uplift underserved communities and guarantee that all people can live longer, healthier lives.

Outside of work, I love to cook with my boyfriend (especially Italian food – please send recipes!), take long walks in Forest Park, our beloved city park here in St. Louis, and practice yoga.

I can’t wait to start working with all of You’re the Cure’s incredible advocates to create meaningful change on the local, state, and federal level. The American Heart Association’s commitment to making our communities healthier, and volunteer advocates’ determination to use their voices for good is inspiring. I am so thrilled to be part of it.

Please feel free to reach out to me at [email protected] to introduce yourself, schedule some time to chat, or ask any questions. I look forward to speaking with you all soon!
