Join Us at a Mississippi Heart Walk Near You!

by Elizabeth W. on Tuesday, October 1, 2013

The season is upon us, no…not football season, but HEART WALK SEASON!
Have you looked to see when and where your area Heart Walk will be held?
Have you made plans to join a Heart Walk team?  To find out more visit:

When you walk, you are walking to take a stand against heart disease and stroke, but the American Heart Association wants you to take just one more step and help high school students be CPR smart!  That’s right.  Right now, the American Heart Association is working to have all high school students trained in CPR before they graduate and we need your help.  Across the five Heart Walks held in Mississippi, thousands of advocates are gathering in support of creating the next generation of lifesavers.  When you attend a Heart Walk, simply look for the You’re the Cure Advocacy Tent and sign a postcard in support of the issue to help our high school students be CPR smart.

Here are the remaining Heart Walks in Mississippi:
• Oct. 19—Jones County Heart Walk at Jones County Junior College
• Nov. 2—Metro Jackson Heart Walk at the Capitol Building
• March 15—Jackson County Heart Walk at Pascagoula Beach Park

Join us, Mississippi, at a Heart Walk near you to help actively advocate to make heart healthy changes in our state.

You’re the Cure!
