"Now ranked fifth in the nation in obesity, state residents are on track to rack up 1.4 million new cases of type 2 diabetes, 2.9 million cases of coronary heart disease and 2.6 million cases of high blood pressure over the next 20 years, a national study found."

  • I agree with Dr. Kim Eagle. We need to start with the children. I''m not pointing fingers but most of them who are obese are not old enough to go to the grocery store and buy food for themselves. Children do spend most of their time at school and what better place to learn healthy habits and the importance of nutrition and physical activity. I also agree that we cannot force a healthy lifestyle on anyone; it''s a personal choice they need to make. Awareness is the best way to persuade people to make the heathy choice.
