Arizona State Legislature Sees Shift as 2025 Legislative Priorities Emerge
After long days of counting and recounting ballots, the election season has concluded, and we have some updates on the state legislature. The State Senate gained an extra Republican seat, resulting in 17 Republicans and 13 Democrats. Meanwhile, the House of Representatives gained two Republican seats, bringing the total to 33 Republicans and 27 Democrats.
Right now, we are in the process of finalizing our legislative priorities for 2025. This year, the main focus will be on the Nation of Lifesavers initiative. We plan to introduce legislation regarding cardiac emergency response plans and access to AEDs. Additionally, we will be working on tobacco control measures.
The legislative session will begin on January 13, 2025. There is still room to join us at the Capitol on January 16 to help advocate for these important issues. If you would like to RSVP, you can do so by clicking here.
