Join us for our 2025 Day at the Capitol
You’re invited to register for the 2025 American Heart Association’s Day at the Capitol on Tuesday, January 21st in Topeka! Together we will advocate for laws that prevent heart disease and stroke and make a difference in the lives of Kansans.
*A light breakfast and box lunch will be provided. There is no cost to attend but advance registration is required.*
We will gather at the Kansas Health Institute, St. Peter East Room (212 SW Eighth Ave. Suite 300, Topeka, KS 66603) with check-in at 8:00 am and will conclude our activities by 2:30pm.
We ask that all attendees join us for a pre-event training call on January 16th at 6:00pm CT. Call-in details will be emailed out the week beforehand.
The call will prepare you for your Day at the Capitol experience and will include:
• An overview of our event activities
• Review of the “asks” we will be making of our legislators
• What to expect when meeting with your legislators that day.
• An update on the current legislative environment.
This year we will be working to make sure:
- 9-1-1 telecommunicators are trained in coaching others to perform CPR
- All casinos are smokefree to protect all Kansans from secondhand smoke while at work
- Expanding Medicaid for uninsured families is critical for heart and stroke health
