Meet Mara Fiegen

Hello everyone! My name is Mara Fiegen, and I am a brand new advocacy intern for the American Heart Association.

I am originally from Freeman, South Dakota and I am a senior at South Dakota State University. I am studying Human Biology with minors in Spanish and Chemistry. Next, will be attending the University of South Dakota’s Physician Assistant program starting in July.

I have a passion for rural healthcare and am looking forward to working in family medicine in a small town in South Dakota after I finish PA school. I am very excited to be a part of the American Heart Association and sharing my passion for advocacy with others and getting to know the wonderful advocates that are part of You’re the Cure.
